Appointments available in Thornbury, Carlton North and via telehealth.

I am a registered and endorsed counselling psychologist with a friendly, down-to-earth approach. I work hard to develop an authentic and trusting relationship where clients feel truly heard and supported, as I believe that a solid therapeutic relationship is the basis for any effective therapy.
I have over a decade of experience supporting adults and adolescents through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, perinatal mental health concerns, stress management, life adjustments, and parenting concerns. I have a special passion for perinatal mental health and supporting clients through the transformative journey of becoming parents.
I use a collaborative approach, tailoring treatment to your unique goals and preferences. My aim is to create a compassionate space where we can build insight together, empowering you to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and clarity.
I have over a decade of experience supporting individuals in private practice, offering therapy both in person and via telehealth (video and phone). I have extensive training and experience using EMDR to process traumatic memories in a safe and contained way.
I provide a neuroaffirming approach and am a committed LGBTQIA+ ally.
Please reach out to me at sarahbpsychology@outlook.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
I offer individual therapy sessions for a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
I do not provide reports or conduct assessments for legal or court-related matters.
Sessions are 50 minutes long.
You may be eligible for a rebate if your private health insurance covers psychological services under extras. Contact your health fund to find out what you can claim.
You do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, if you would like to access a Medicare rebate, you will need a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.
A Mental Health Care Plan is created by your GP after discussing your mental health and support needs. It allows you to access up to 10 Medicare rebates for psychology sessions each calendar year.
This is significantly less than The Australian Psychological Society recommended fee of $318.00 for a consultation with a psychologist.
You may be eligible for a rebate of $98.95 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year under a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan completed by your GP.
You may be eligible for a rebate if your private health insurance covers psychological services under extras. Contact your health fund to find out what you can claim.
To avoid being charged the full session fee, please provide at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations made within 48 hours of your appointment will incur a 50% fee.
To arrange an appointment please send me an email.
If you're still unsure, we can arrange a free introductory call. This is a chance to discuss what you’re looking for and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
